What if I put my heart and soul into this programme and it doesn’t work?
Am I too old? I’m over forty for God’s sake!
Is it too late, too much accumulated damage done?
Do I have to stop drinking entirely and give up all of the foods that I love?
Must I train so hard that my teeth hurt, bleed, fallout, explode in my mouth?
Perhaps you’ve had some or even all of these thoughts about embarking on a training programme.
These questions could be distilled to a much simpler question that you need to ask yourself.
Is all of this effort worth my time?
After all what’s so bad about staying exactly where you are? And what’s so great about changing?
Y’see most of us who consider ourselves logical humans, strive to get the biggest return on our investment.
We want the biggest results from the least amount of effort.
We want the best food, clothing, products, services for the least amount of cash.
This is highly esteemed in our society.
And so making a shrewd decision on how we spend our time is important to us. But not just for us but for how we appear to others.
Bear with me here as I expand this just a tad…
Your problem is pretty bloody simple. You want to lose some damn weight, budge some stubborn bulge, look and feel healthier.
Your solution? Not so simple…
Should I run every day?
Do I need to lift weights, if so what weights, how much, how many?
What about nutrition? Keto, Intermittent fasting, High Protein, Plant based….
Mindset: I know that I need some positive mantras, now where should I put them, on my phone, on the kettle, in the shower, on the toilet door, scribble them on sheets of toilet roll???…. ARRRGGGHHHH!!! Too many decisions.
Oh, lookey here. There’s that doctor guy on BBC showing us how to lose weight without exercising or missing out on our takeaways and we can drink alcohol too? …. I’m in!
Let’s not be too hasty with all of this healthy lifestyle change malarky.
If you recognise any of this then perhaps we should chat.
Message in the comments if you’ve scribbled your life affirmations on sheets of bog roll 🧻😉
