Broken Ankle To Top 1% In 12 Months


In Feb 2022 I broke my ankle (Pilon Fracture - Split the tibia)

Couple of pins in my ankle and six weeks hobbling around on crutches. I thought that this was my new reality and I would not recover well from this at age 50+. I followed my rehab program for 2 months and within 6 months I was competing in HYROX. One year on from the injury I entered the CrossFit Open and placed in the top 1% for my age group and qualified for the Quarter Finals placing 2nd in UK and 19th in Europe in my age category.
